Consumer Reports Gives Subaru and the Subaru Forester Top Marks | Schomp Subaru

The question of who to trust is complicated, but when it comes to cars, there’s no more authoritative source than Consumer Reports (CR), an independent consumer research organization. Every year they put out a “Brand Report Card” that scores both foreign and domestic cars. Subaru has been among the top three brands for four years in a row.

Schomp Subaru was very excited that CR ranked Subaru just a hair out of first place. Finishing second at 79 overall points (first place was just two points higher at 81), Subaru’s winning ways result from “Superb road test scores and solid results in CR’s reliability and owner satisfaction surveys.” Consumer Reports also counts its road tests and vehicle safety in its evaluations.

In addition to its list of the best and worst brands, Consumer Reports puts out a list of its “10 Top Picks.” Subaru shines brightly here, too. Of the 10 vehicles, the Subaru Forester was one of only two that repeated from 2022, and in fact, it’s been on the list for 10 straight years!

CR said the Subaru Forester is a winner because of “the basic design, drafted to provide solid crash protection, a spacious cabin, generous cargo area, and terrific outward visibility.” It also remarked on the Forester’s handling, ride and excellent fuel efficiency.

Of course, these are all qualities that Colorado drivers value and that have made Subaru such a favorite among the Centennial State’s drivers.

With the pandemic now declared officially in the rearview, more and more people are considering a new car. As Consumer Reports’ CEO Marta Tellado put it, “There’s a lot of pent-up consumer demand for vehicles, with the lingering effects of the pandemic, supply chain issues, and chip shortages. There are some signs that the car market is improving for consumers and we’re here to help people navigate a process that can feel intimidating and overwhelming.”
