In a heartwarming collaboration for Subaru Loves Learning, Schomp Subaru teamed up with our friends at Beyond the Blackboard, a local business in Aurora, to make a significant difference in the lives of Lansing Community Elementary School’s students and educators. This year’s partnership wasn’t just about donating school supplies; it was about igniting a spark for learning and creativity.
When we looked at partnering with Subaru of America on this program, it’s something we’ve done many years before and have really enjoyed. This year, however, we had the opportunity to give in the form of gift cards—ten of them, to be precise. But we didn’t want to stop at just ten teachers; we wanted to do more, to create a ripple of impact. So, in collaboration with the school’s principal, we decided to double the number of teachers receiving gift cards to twenty. But the question remained: Why stop at gift cards when we could provide supplies that would truly make a difference? That’s when inspiration struck – if we could impact one classroom positively, why not ten? And if ten, why not twenty? The answer was clear – we should adopt the entire school.
With the unwavering support of Beyond the Blackboard, we embarked on a journey to furnish Lansing Elementary with an abundance of school supplies and educational kits. Each classroom was given the tools they needed to inspire and educate the future generation.
We worked hard with Beyond the Blackboard to assemble unique kits designed to make math exciting and engaging through games. These kits weren’t just about textbooks and pencils; they were about sparking curiosity and unleashing the potential of young minds.
In total, Schomp Subaru and Beyond the Blackboard proudly donated over $10,000 worth of supplies that will benefit the students and their dedicated teachers. As part of Subaru of America’s Adopt a Classroom initiative, we also contributed $250 to 20 teachers at Lansing Elementary, further empowering them to make a difference in their classrooms.
Lansing Community Elementary School is home to 307 remarkable students in grades P-5. Over 85% of them qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and more than half are English Language Learners. The impact of our partnership reaches far beyond the school walls, touching the lives of these incredible children and educators.
We are immensely proud to have collaborated with one of our cherished small businesses in Aurora, Beyond the Blackboard, to create a powerful and positive impact on our local community. This partnership isn’t just about donating supplies; it’s about nurturing a love for learning and empowering the leaders of tomorrow. Together, we’ve fueled education and left an indelible mark on Lansing Elementary.
