Reliability, Safety and Value Keep Subaru the Standout Automotive Brand | Schomp Subaru

Published on Dec 5, 2020 by Schomp Subaru

Is anyone surprised that Subaru continues to rack up the awards? With its combination of excellent value, creature comforts and safety, Coloradans have made it one of our state’s most popular vehicles.

Just last month, Subaru got another big win. It was named the 2021 “Top Mainstream Brand for Residual Value” in the ALG Residual Value Awards. This was the fifth time in a row that Subaru earned the top spot.

ALG, which is the analytics arm of TrueCar, is a recognized authority on residual value in the automotive industry. These awards recognize vehicles in 29 different segments that will retain the highest percentage after three years of their Manufacturers’ Suggested Retail Price. And in addition to winning the best overall brand, four Subaru models came out on top of their respective segments:

Impreza – named Best Compact Car Forester – named Best Compact SUV Crosstrek – named Best Sub-Compact SUV WRX – named Best Sports Car

According to Eric Lyman, chief industry analyst at ALG, “Subaru earned the top spot in the Mainstream Brand category in the ALG Residual Value Awards as a result of their class-leading and balanced portfolio…”

The entire Subaru lineup is known for “safety, reliability and value that each vehicle promises. Customers know they can count on Subaru vehicles to last through the seasons of their lives,” said Subaru President and CEO, Thomas J. Doll.

There’s More!

But wait! Subaru also was named #1 in Vehicle Safety by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), which surveys consumers for their impressions on a lengthy list of qualities in their vehicles – everything from performance to interior/exterior style, comfort, efficiency, safety, technology, and even the manufacturers’ websites. The ACSI Automobile Report 2019-2020, was issued in August.

This safety award confirms the results of safety ratings given by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). All 2020 Subarus with Subaru’s EyeSight® safety system get IIHS’s highest possible rating for front crash prevention, and if they also are equipped with Steering Responsive Headlights, they are IIHS Top Safety Picks. Several Subaru models also gained IIHS Top Safety Pick+ recognition, including the Ascent, Forester, Legacy sedan, Outback 4-door wagon, and Crosstrek Hybrid 4-door wagon
