Two Subaru's Landed The 2021 Best Cars List | Schomp Subaru

Published on Mar 1, 2021 by Schomp Subaru

The 2021 Subaru Forester and 2021 Subaru Outback both drove to top spots in their class on Consumer Reports’ 2021 Best Cars list. The Forester was named CR’s best “Small SUV.” The Outback is the 2021 best “SUV/Wagon.”

To arrive at its top 10 vehicles, Consumer Reports surveyed more than 250 different models, which were ranked based on how they performed on more than 50 rigorous tests, as well as how they scored with owners on reliability and overall satisfaction. “We put thousands of miles on each test car and evaluate them for how people actually use them,” according to Head of Auto Testing Jake Fisher. “That means we care more about how your next car or SUV performs when it comes to safety, comfort and fuel efficiency than how quickly it can circle a race track.”

The Forester, 8-Time Best Car List

CR’s testers pointed out that the Subaru Forester has made their Best Car list for eight years running. For this year’s competition, they lauded the Forester’s:

Tall roofline that creates a sense of spaciousness, and large doors that make getting in and out easy. “These facets combine to create the best outward visibility of any vehicle beyond a bicycle.” Fuel economy, “especially for an SUV that isn’t a diesel or hybrid.” Standard all-wheel-drive system and “a generous roster of active safety

The Colorado Favorite

Describing the 2021 Subaru Outback, CR’s testers asked, “Is it a wagon or an SUV? Who Cares?” And they went on to describe why the Outback is a Colorado favorite, “It’s a do-it-all vehicle with broad appeal and hiking-boot style.” The qualities they highlighted included:

Outback’s “ride that outshines some luxury models in the way it swallows bumps.” Good ground clearance and AWD, “making them ready for light off-pavement adventures.” The Outback’s balance between its “car-like driving manners and efficiency with SUV-like functionality.”

Summing up, Consumer Reports said, “Clearly, Subaru knows what it’s doing with small SUVs, and it hasn’t deviated much from that winning formula over time.” It’s what has made Subaru a favorite with Colorado drivers. We’re proud that the 2021 Subaru Forester and 2021 Subaru Outback are also favorites with Consumer Reports. Come on in to Schomp Subaru on Havana and we’ll demonstrate why Subaru rates so highly with CR’s professionals.
