The 2025 Subaru Forester | Schomp Subaru in Aurora

Published on Mar 11, 2024 by Schomp Subaru

As we settle into winter, we’re already looking forward to the joys of spring. More sunlight. Beautiful flowers. And a brand-new 2025 Subaru Forester, which will make its Schomp Subaru debut in spring of 2024. The sixth generation Forester is getting some wonderful new features, while keeping the best of the outgoing consumer favorite. The 2025 Subaru Forester was unveiled at the recently concluded Los Angeles Auto Show.

The 2025 Subaru Forester will be available at the spring launch in five trim levels: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited and Touring. Subaru says Wilderness and hybrid models will follow, likely  within a year.

The Forester has been Subaru’s workhorse model, with more than 2.6 million of them sold in the U.S. As MotorTrend.com put it in its “First Look” review, “…if you want a very well-rounded mainstream five-seat compact SUV, the 2025 Forester appears compelling.”

What’s new? Some highlights

Redesigned exterior, with bolder features including a new grille that highlights the angular LED headlights and an updated Pleiades star cluster logo.  Better performance and stability with the Subaru Global Platform enhanced with 10% more rigidity, which Subaru says will offer a smoother and quieter ride.

The latest version of EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology that includes a wider field of view, updated control software, an electric brake booster, which Subaru says will “operate more smoothly and quickly and under a greater range of conditions than prior versions.”

Available new Emergency Stop Assist that automatically stops the car, turns on the hazard lights, unlocks the doors and lets SUBARU STARLINK® notify emergency services if the driver doesn’t respond to warnings.

Incline Start Assist keeps the 2025 Forester from rolling backward on hills in the pause before accelerating forward.

An available Surround View Monitor provides an all-around overhead view of the Forester and its surroundings, while the DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System (standard on Touring trim) focuses a camera on the driver and uses facial recognition software to detect attention lapses and fatigue.

Better, more supportive front seats to increase comfort while decreasing fatigue, with ventilated seats on the Touring trim.

Updated climate control system that focuses on occupied seats rather than the entire cabin, minimizing fuel use.

New Hands-Free Power Rear Gate that makes opening and closing the tailgate easy with a quick kick under the rear bumper. Eight new tie-down points in the cargo area.

An 11.6-inch, center-mounted Multimedia Plus system on all but Base trims that makes accessing audio, climate and vehicle functions easy. Base trim gets dual 7.0-inch high-res touchscreens.

Some Keepers

Subaru’s 2.5-liter BOXER® engine with 180 hp and 178 lb-feet of torque mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission. Premium trim and above get a manual mode with power shifters.

Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive

Outstanding head and leg room and 60-40 fold-down rear seats that increase carrying capacity to 74.4 cubic feet

Award-winning EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology that have contributed to Subaru’s multiple Top Safety Pick+ ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

Standard Remote Keyless Access, Tire Pressure Monitoring System with Individual Wheel Display, Steering Responsive LED Headlights with Automatic High Beam, Welcome Lighting, power door locks.

There’s a lot more to love in the 2025 2025 Forester. It is definitely something to look forward to. You can sign up for updates and we’ll let you know when you can see it in person.
